Traceology,
which is an archaeological technique, focuses on the study of different
kinds of traces or marks still visible on artefacts.
Particularly in the case of wood, accurate analysis and
study of working marks may provide valuable information about
fabrication tools, the process of production and craftsmen’s
skills (publications). Furthermore, marks of use and
wear can help us to estimate for how long, and the ways in which tools
were used
